Arianna Belle: The Shop

Hey everyone! Aren't you glad it's Friday?? I am...even though I'll still have work to do. I'll be shooting some new Cocoa & Hearts paintings! So keep a look out! On another note...

Aren't throw cushions awesome?

It's too bad I only have one sofa. If not, a few of these babies would be on them. I'm really liking the selection over at Arianna's shop. For those of you who aren't familiar with her, she's an Interior Designer who also blogs at Arianna Belle Organized Interiors.

Funny thing is, I already have the #3 cushions in black & white, but I really think #1 would look awesome in my place too! Check out the rest of her cushion collection here.

Which is your favorite cushion?

Elle Decor April Issue....

Elle Decor's April issue is their International issue! Have you seen it yet? In it they feature decorator Lorenzo Castillo's home in Madrid, Spain. It's a HUGE 17th century home that used to be a former convent, can you believe that?!?

Check out all the cool mixture of prints and patterns in his home...and that checkered floor?!? Love it. You can see more of his home here.

Art Filled Home....

The NEW Made By Girl site design is almost ready.... & guess what?!?!? We'll be launching the GOLD LOVE prints along with it! Can't wait!!

Along with all of that - I'll be adding more Cocoa & Hearts paintings & this time you'll be able to access C & H right through a link on Made By Girl!
This week I came across this home on Deco Dir and was immediately inspired. The artwork on the walls in this home really got me back in the mood to paint!

I LOVE art....and it's fascinating to see it on a large scale. Of course this is miniature in comparison to the artwork great artists like Picasso painted - those things THINGS were HUMONGOUS!!  I was lucky enough to stand in front of a few at the Getty & MOMA this year.

Do you like large scale art? Would you ever consider adding some large pieces to your home??

Another Project: Floating Cabinets...

I've been on another CRAZE, trying to figure out what we'll be adding next to our main dining room table. A credenza? A sideboard? WHATEVER you want to call it, we haven't found it! After looking through several sites & realizing we weren't going to find something long enough & affordable - we came to a conclusion........

let's freakin' try IKEA.

During my hunt, I had come across a shelf in this Greektown loft on Apartment Therapy. I was impressed at how brilliantly Andreas (the owner) used the Akurum shelving system - and thought, why not? I love a floating cabinet...

We've made the order through a company called MODERNLV - They actually pick up your IKEA furniture for  you for about 20% of the total cost. Basically - it's cheaper than ordering it online & maybe even driving there yourself.

Now, I'm speaking for those of US who DO NOT have an IKEA in our state...like Nevada. So lame. Anyway, it's ordered & I'm looking forward to showing you what it looks like up.

As for my plan...I bought enough shelving so that it would extend about 2 feet passed the painting on each side.

Do you think that was a smart move on my behalf? Or should I have extended the cabinets from wall to wall instead??

Have you ever installed floating cabinets before in your home??

below: our place - shot this picture while standing in the kitchen.

For those of you interested - here's a cool DIY on how to install a floating IKEA cabinets.

Adding More to my Closet...

What an amazing & long weekend that was! How was it for you?? Not long enough????

Well, we managed to get a DIY project out of the way that we had been putting aside for quite some time.

My master closet had a section that was left undone - and had that AWFUL wire rack...STILL! So, we decided it was time to build it up & add more storage. We are 99% done except for one shelf - because all the wood at Home Depot wasn't that great, so hopefully this weekend we'll have it done!

Here's what it looked like before - I'll post pics when completely done!

Personal Photos....(Via Made By Girl)

This post was supposed to be for May 12th & it WAS UP (for a few hours) until Blogger decided to do maintenance for an entire day in a half & DELETED it along with the 60 comments! Sorry if your comment got deleted, but please feel free to comment again.

Thanks to Christie from Chic Love blog who was nice enough to send the post (I thought I'd lost) to me via email (she had it in her reader)! Thank God! I'm sending Christie anything she wants from Made By Girl she wants as a thank you!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I love it when bloggers post PERSONAL photos of things they own or just pictures of inside of their home. Know what I mean? I find it intriguing to see what people own, what they buy & even what type of dog they have! Nonetheless, it's just a small & narrow window into their lives.

How about you? Do you enjoy looking at these types of photographs on blogs?
Even though we shouldn't always judge a book by it's cover.... you can kind of tell (by looking at my pictures) that I pretty much enjoy shoes, fashion, art, jewelry & doggies!  But, I'm far more than what you see in these photos & I'm sure other bloggers you follow are also much more than what you see & read.

This is just a very small snippet of my life. Hopefully one day I'll add a baby to these pictures....

An 8x10 painting I did - soon to be available at Cocoa & Hearts

Python business card holder & leopard wallet- I'm in love with leopard print - as if you couldn't tell.

A few of my necklaces. My favorite is the cross with the purple stones.

Marc Jacobs handbag hanging in my dressing area.

A painting I originally did for Cocoa & Hearts, but I decided to keep it.  It's now hanging in my bathroom.

One of my boxers....she loves sleeping on her sheepskin

my handy dandy closet- super convenient.

new (earth friendly) business cards...

A white boxer I had a few years ago - she passed away in 2006 - I miss her so much.

One of my current favorite design books 'Undecorate', fresh carrot juice & a small Cocoa & Hearts piece I made. Will be adding some similar 8x10's soon to the gallery!

Home Tour via Allt i Hemmet...(Via Made By Girl)

I couldn't tell you much about this article I found via Allt I Hemmet Magazine except that I needed a TRANSLATOR to tell me who lives there!

It's MORE than likely occupied by a man - judging by the decor style. (perhaps a musician or a successful artist) I may be wrong, but WOW.  The kitchen is what really caught my eye....I mean look at those walls above the cabinets, all black!  It's like the SILKIEST black paint I've EVER seen & it's got me thinking about my own all white kitchen now. Hmmmm

Anyhow, I love the BLACK walls along with the splashes of color throughout his place! The unique pieces of furniture & accessories really give this place a personal touch don't you think?

I also noticed that instead of UPPER CABINETS he decided to place large scale accessories on the tops of the cabinets to give the kitchen a more grander feel!  And how about the idea idea of placing a super old family photo in an ornate frame & mixing it into a super modern kitchen?

.....this place is just gorgeous.
